Transcutaneous monitoring of carbon dioxide

For adults:
1. PCO2 >55mmHg >=10mins
2. Sleep PCO2 - Awake PCO2 >=10mmHg 且 CO2>50mmHg time >= 10 mins

  Sleep pCO2 - Awake pCO2
Tc pCO2 >=10mmHg <10 mmHg
>55mmHg, >10 min SLEEP HYPOVENTILATION
>50mmHg, >10min SLEEP HYPOVENTILATION NO SLEEP HYPOVENTILATION

Obesity hypoventilation syndrome should be considered. (要記得看BMI)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

An increase in TcPCO2 >50 mmHg for >10 min during sleep compared with supine awake value. Obesity hypoventilation syndrome should be considered. (要記得看BMI)

There is an increase in the TcPCO2 >55 mmHg for >10 min. It fulfill the criteria of sleep hypoventilation.

Increased TcpCO2 during sleep (in comparison to an awake supine value), but not fulfill the criteria of sleep hypoventilation.
There was no difference of TcpCO2 level between awake and sleep.
There was no sleep hypoventilation.
